OCBC ranks third worldwide and first in Asia Pacific for bank strength
It is the first Singapore bank to reach the global top three in The Asian Banker’s ranking since its introduction in 2023.

OCBC has taken third place worldwide in The Asian Banker’s World’s 1,000 Strongest Banks ranking, putting it ahead of all other lenders in Singapore and Asia Pacific. JPMorganChase and Saudi National Bank were the only banks ranked above it.
The assessment covered the world’s 1,000 largest banks. The Asian Banker’s editorial team evaluated seven areas, including profitability, liquidity and asset quality, alongside sovereign risk, scale, balance-sheet growth and risk profile.
The result follows another ranking in September 2026, when OCBC led the global-bank tier of Forbes and Statista’s inaugural World’s Top Performing Banks ranking. That category covers lenders whose assets exceed US$500 billion. DBS took second place in the tier.
According to OCBC, its shares had gained 46.8% year to date as of 23 October 2026, leading gains among Straits Times Index constituents. OCBC Group CEO Tan Teck Long attributed the bank’s resilience to customer trust sustained across generations.
