Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund Danantara and State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) are coordinating state-owned companies’ support for village cooperatives to expand access to essential products and subsidised supplies.

Danantara Chief Operating Officer Dony Oskaria said in Denpasar, Bali, that the President envisaged all subsidised goods being distributed through village cooperatives, which would also hold the related data. The Red and White Village Cooperatives (KDKMP) programme is expected to use state-owned companies’ supplies and delivery fleets.

Pertamina Patra Niaga, Pertamina’s downstream business, and state-owned fertiliser producer Pupuk Indonesia Holding Company (PIHC) are collaborating to support energy and food distribution through the cooperative network. Oskaria met the directors of both companies to coordinate that work.

Products targeted for distribution include liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), MinyaKita cooking oil and fertiliser. Average fertiliser orders stand at 4-5 tons per cooperative, while LPG allocations depend on each cooperative’s requirements.

BP BUMN and Danantara said they would continue encouraging cooperation among state-owned enterprises, with the aim of sustaining the programme and helping cooperatives support village economies.
