Cambodia to host cashew and pepper forum focused on European trade
Around 400 participants are expected at the Phnom Penh event on November 10-12, with organisers seeking new export partnerships and investment.

Cambodia is seeking to connect its cashew and pepper businesses with overseas markets through a trade forum in Phnom Penh on November 10-12. A joint statement from Cambodia’s commerce ministry, the EU and Germany said the second annual event would give particular attention to trade with Europe.
Organisers expect around 400 attendees from Cambodia, Europe, other ASEAN countries and elsewhere. Participants are expected to include agricultural producers and exporters alongside prospective buyers, investors and businesses providing services. The programme aims to help companies find markets, develop commercial partnerships and identify investment opportunities.
Commerce minister Cham Nimul said the ministry wanted to improve export competitiveness and broaden markets for the sectors. She said the forum would emphasise turning businesses’ readiness to export, adherence to international standards and stronger supply chains into trade and investment partnerships.
EU ambassador to Cambodia Igor Driesmans said the initiative would help Cambodian companies reach European markets and meet sustainability and quality requirements. German ambassador Silke Röfer said Germany’s partnership with Cambodia and the EU also sought to improve market access and support lasting trade relationships.
