Indonesia plans commodity exchange regulations by end-November
Four rules are being drafted for the new bourse, with trading expected to start on Jan 4, 2027.

Two regulations for Indonesia’s planned commodity bourse are due by the end of November, according to Henry Rialdi, deputy commissioner of the Financial Services Authority. Speaking on Nov 3, he said the authority was preparing rules ahead of the exchange’s planned January 2027 launch.
The regulations form part of a package of four rules under preparation. Henry told Reuters at an industry conference that these would cover how the bourse is organised and managed, as well as which products it would trade, among other matters.
Trading is expected to begin on Jan 4, 2027. The planned exchange aims to increase transparency in commodity trading and strengthen control over exports, including coal, nickel and palm oil. Henry said he was optimistic about meeting the timetable.
An operator has yet to be determined, with discussions involving the government and sovereign wealth fund Danantara still under way, Henry said.
