Hanoi will host discussions between Vietnamese and European officials and businesses on green development and value-chain cooperation on November 4, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said. The 2026 Vietnam–EU Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum is scheduled for the afternoon.

The ministry’s partners in organising the event are the EU Delegation to Vietnam, the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) and the EU–ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC). EuroCham and EU-ABC are also jointly arranging a visit by a high-level European business delegation in conjunction with the gathering.

Planned sessions cover green industry, logistics, the energy transition, trade facilitation and green finance. Participants will examine how to build connections between Vietnamese suppliers and European corporations, improve domestic suppliers’ capabilities and encourage investment and technology transfer. Local authorities will have opportunities to explain their investment incentives and discuss potential cooperation with European partners.

According to the ministry, Vietnam and the EU elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2026. The ministry expects the forum to support fuller use of the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement and help Vietnamese businesses reach additional markets while accessing European financing, technology and management expertise.
