Indonesia to add China and India as Pertalite fuel suppliers
Existing imports will continue while officials prepare rules governing purchases from a wider range of countries.

Indonesia will buy Pertalite (RON 90) gasoline from China and India as it broadens its import sources, according to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The move is intended to strengthen the country's energy security.
Laode Sulaeman, Director General of Oil and Gas, said state energy company PT Pertamina Patra Niaga would purchase the fuel from both countries. Speaking to reporters in Jakarta, he said Indonesia wanted to diversify rather than depend on a single supplying country, such as Singapore.
The ministry has begun discussions with potential suppliers and is completing a ministerial regulation covering import procedures, stages and governance. Those rules are being developed within existing presidential frameworks. Officials will maintain current import arrangements while the regulatory work continues.
Pertalite is Indonesia's main subsidised fuel. The ministry said a broader supplier network was expected to support national energy resilience and make fuel distribution more reliable across the archipelago.
