Standard Chartered and Air India plan to introduce a partnership in Singapore and the UAE that gives eligible affluent Global Indian clients airline loyalty status and qualifying Air India customers access to the bank’s wealth centres.

Under the arrangement, qualifying Standard Chartered clients will receive Gold or Silver membership in Air India’s Maharaja Club. Customers of the airline must meet the bank’s eligibility requirements to access its wealth services.

The airline benefits include additional baggage, priority boarding and check-in, lounge entry, vouchers for upgrades and bonus Maharaja Points. Benefits vary by membership level, with Gold offering more than Silver.

Gold membership also confers Star Alliance Gold status. The companies said this gives members entry to over 1,000 lounges worldwide, plus priority airport services and additional baggage benefits across 25 other airlines in Star Alliance.

For eligible Air India customers, the banking offering includes dedicated relationship management, market insights provided by Standard Chartered’s Chief Investment Office, invitations to thought leadership events and wealth solutions for cross-border financial needs. The Singapore wealth centre will be an access point for qualifying Global Indian clients.
