Pitchwise Holdings has agreed to buy a 42% holding in Valencia CF from Singaporean billionaire Peter Lim’s private investment company, Meriton Holdings, according to the Spanish football club. The agreement values Valencia at 1.25 billion euros and requires regulatory approval.

Valencia said its new backers would inject 100 million euros, available immediately for investment in the club. Bloomberg reported that the Pitchwise consortium includes Penner Sports Group alongside family offices linked to George Roberts and Henry Kravis, the KKR co-founders.

Sports executives Ann Rodriguez and Corey Woolfolk lead Pitchwise and are expected to take up leadership posts at Valencia after completion. Majority ownership will stay with Meriton, and Lim’s son Kiat will continue serving as president.

According to The Business Times, the transaction is intended to help Valencia prepare for its move to Nou Mestalla before the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Spain will co-host. Kiat has overseen construction of the 70,000-seat stadium. Valencia said the deal covers the stadium as well as its men’s and women’s teams.

The club is second-to-last in La Liga and risks relegation. Lim bought an initial 70.4% holding through Meriton for 100 million euros in 2014; his ownership had reached 91.5% by the end of 2024.
