VBSP lending in Bat Trang reaches US$2.52 million
The local Farmers' Union reports 729 borrowers and no overdue or frozen debts across the two financing channels it manages.

Outstanding Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) credit administered by the Farmers' Union in Hanoi's Bat Trang commune totals US$2.52 million, according to union vice chairman Tran Bao Khanh. The lending reaches 729 borrowers through a network of 18 Savings and Credit Groups.
Khanh put the increase over 2025 at US$200,000 and said 162 farmer members had obtained US$639,200 in new lending. Employment creation accounts for more than US$1.75 million of the outstanding credit, with another US$540,000 allocated to clean water and rural environmental sanitation.
The union separately oversees US$452,360 in loans from Hanoi's Farmers' Support Fund for 231 farming households. That financing supports the cultivation of vegetables, flowers, ornamental plants and speciality fruit.
Neither financing channel has overdue or frozen debts, the union said, putting interest collection at 100 per cent. Periodic inspections covering 118 borrower accounts found that every household checked had applied the money to its registered purpose. Training on loan administration and borrower selection reached 128 officials and members.
Figures from the commune authorities and Hanoi's crop production and plant protection sub-department show Bat Trang has more than 650 hectares of cultivated land. Vegetables occupy around 330 hectares, while flowers, ornamental plants and speciality fruit trees cover 320 hectares.
Union chairwoman Tran Thi Hai said the organisation wanted VBSP to make further funding available for members seeking to expand production and business activities, together with more professional training.
