Vietnam and Denmark seek progress on loan framework talks
The two countries discussed financing for infrastructure and strategic projects in Vietnam at a committee meeting in Copenhagen.

Vietnam and Denmark agreed at an October 26 meeting in Copenhagen to pursue further negotiations on a framework agreement for government loans. Financing for Vietnamese infrastructure and strategic projects was also on the agenda of their sixth intergovernmental committee session.
Delegates examined how to implement a financing memorandum linking the Vietnamese finance ministry and the Danish foreign ministry. Vietnam also asked Denmark to help expand trade and encourage major investments, and urged Danish businesses to establish joint ventures with Vietnamese partners in strategic industries and services.
The discussions covered problems affecting Danish companies operating in Vietnam. Both delegations agreed to deepen cooperation across areas including investment, development assistance, maritime affairs, agriculture, the environment, and science and technology. Vietnam will host the next committee session.
Two-way trade surpassed US$720 million in 2025 and reached US$672.60 million during January–September 2026, a year-on-year increase of 35.2 per cent. Vietnamese exports accounted for almost US$383.5 million, while purchases from Denmark were close to US$290 million.
