OCBC adds travel rewards to overseas QR payments
The bank says customer numbers and transaction values for overseas Alipay+ QR payments more than doubled in the first eight months of 2026.

OCBC has introduced Alipay+ Travel Treat in its banking app, giving customers access to more than 200 merchant offers in seven destinations when using its overseas QR payment service.
The programme covers Malaysia, Thailand, mainland China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Macau. Customers can obtain vouchers for dining, shopping and travel in the app. Qualifying discounts are then applied automatically to QR payments made at participating Alipay+ merchants.
Participating businesses include Don Quijote, The Shilla Duty-Free and 7-Eleven, as well as Kuala Lumpur shopping centres Suria KLCC and TRX Mall. OCBC says it is the first Singapore bank to integrate rewards of this kind into its app.
According to OCBC, the number of customers using the app for overseas Alipay+ QR payments more than doubled during the first eight months of 2026 against the corresponding period in 2025. Transaction values also more than doubled, primarily reflecting spending in mainland China, Japan and South Korea.
The rewards programme builds on a partnership with Alipay+ that started in 2024. OCBC customers can currently pay participating merchants in more than 55 destinations directly from their Singapore bank accounts using QR payments.
