Malakoff Corp Bhd has named Aznita Abdul Aziz an independent non-executive director and appointed its deputy chief financial officer, Nurshazwani Abd Malek, to cover the chief financial officer position on an interim basis from Dec 1.

Nurshazwani will succeed Mohd Nazersham Mansor, whose departure takes effect on Nov 30. He is leaving to pursue other career opportunities, the company said.

Aznita's oil and gas career spans about 26 years, mainly within the Petronas group. Her experience includes treasury operations and economic evaluation, alongside portfolio management, strategic planning and risk management.

She also holds an independent non-executive directorship at Steel Hawk Bhd. There, she leads the nomination committee and serves on both the remuneration committee and the audit and risk management committee.

Malakoff chairman Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin said Aznita's experience would benefit the board. He also thanked Mohd Nazersham for his service and contributions to the company.
