Indonesia suspends six more forestry permits after Central Kalimantan fires
The six firms hold 201,391 hectares of concessions, including 7,531 hectares affected by fire, and have been ordered to restore damaged areas.

Indonesia has suspended forestry permits held by six more companies following forest and land fires in Central Kalimantan, Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni said. The action takes the number of forestry companies under administrative sanctions to 32.
Speaking at Jakarta's Presidential Palace Complex, Antoni said the six firms must also undertake environmental restoration in the affected areas. Their Forest Utilization Business Permits (PBPH) have been suspended.
The companies are PT Hasil Kalimantan Jaya, PT Taiyong Engreen, PT Hutan Produksi Lestari, PT Ramang Agro Lestari, PT Puspa Warna Cemerlang and PT Sinergi Hutan Sejati.
Together, the six firms hold concessions totalling 201,391 hectares. Recent fires burned 7,531 hectares within those concessions.
The ministry had already taken administrative action against 26 companies, with penalties including permit suspensions and restoration orders. Across all 32 sanctioned firms, concessions cover 1,931,115 hectares, including 18,489 hectares affected by fires.
Antoni said separate criminal proceedings remained possible if investigations found evidence of criminal intent or wrongdoing.
