Technology and digital businesses from Hangzhou are among the investors Jakarta wants to attract, Regional Secretary Uus Kuswanto said during a ceremony establishing the Indonesia Hangzhou Chamber of Commerce.

Uus said the city administration would keep working to make investment conditions more favourable, ease business procedures and foster partnerships involving government and companies. Those efforts would support foreign investors, including businesses from Hangzhou.

He said he hoped companies from both cities would pursue agreements covering digital technology, trade and creative industries. Jakarta's infrastructure, workforce and business environment positioned it as a gateway to Indonesian investment and trade, he added.

Chamber chairman Ya Daifeng identified the digital economy, smart manufacturing and creative industries as strengths of Hangzhou companies. He said the organisation sought to match their industrial capabilities and entrepreneurial expertise with opportunities in the Indonesian market.

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recorded US$54.17 billion in Indonesian exports to China, excluding oil and gas, during January-September 2026. Indonesia imported US$76.16 billion from China over that period. Products traded between the countries include machinery, nickel, plastics, vegetable oils and electronic equipment.
