Vietnamese and South Korean seafood companies met in Busan to discuss potential partnerships covering raw materials, processing, distribution and export markets at the Vietnam–Korea Seafood Business Connect 2026 conference.

Vietnam’s consulate general in Busan and the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) jointly organised the gathering alongside the Busan International Seafood and Fisheries Expo. Consul General Doan Phuong Lan said Vietnamese businesses had participated in the expo for more than a decade and pledged continued support for cooperation between the two countries’ firms.

VASEP Secretary General Nguyen Hoai Nam outlined Vietnam’s seafood industry and opportunities for bilateral cooperation. The association also invited Korean businesses and investors to explore supply opportunities through the Vietnam International Seafood Exhibition. A business-matching session connected Vietnamese companies with Korean partners, with products on display including ready-to-eat seafood.

Jang Ok-jin, executive director of the Korea Fisheries Trade Association, described the countries’ capabilities as complementary. He cited Vietnam’s seafood production and processing capacity, alongside South Korea’s distribution systems, quality standards and expanding convenience-food market, as strengths that could support cooperation.
