The US Department of Commerce has finalised anti-dumping duty rates for Vietnamese frozen warm-water shrimp following its 20th administrative review. The decision makes small changes to the preliminary rates and covers shipments from February 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025.

Among the two mandatory respondents, Fimex Group (Sao Ta) received a rate of 10.71 per cent, compared with the preliminary 10.76 per cent. Stapimex’s rate increased from 6.3 per cent to 6.36 per cent. For 27 other companies granted separate rates, the duty rose from 7.56 per cent to 7.59 per cent.

The countrywide rate remains 25.76 per cent for 131 companies. No interested party had sought a review of that group.

According to the Vietnam Trade Remedies Authority, the department will direct US Customs and Border Protection to assess and collect duties on shipments covered by the review after the final results appear in the US Federal Register. Cash deposits on Vietnamese shrimp shipments will depend on each exporter’s status and applicable rate.

The authority urged exporters to check their rates and work with US importers to track publication and collection requirements. It also called for complete production and export records, including documentation on inputs and chemicals, ahead of future reviews. Incomplete, inconsistent or late submissions could lead the department to use adverse facts available, potentially producing less favourable rates, it warned.
