Indonesia’s IHSG opened Friday trading at 5,397.34, adding 9.43 points, or 0.18 per cent. The index subsequently gave up part of that advance, trading around 5,394.13 as investors monitored government policy, banking developments and economic liquidity.

At 09.00 WIB, the index touched 5,405.88, a rise of 0.33 per cent, while its early low stood at 5,387.61. Turnover amounted to Rp322.92 billion on a volume of 13.83 million lots.

An upcoming calculation change was also in focus. The Indonesia Stock Exchange will remove shares categorised as High Shareholding Concentration (HSC) from the IHSG calculation starting 2 November 2026. In a disclosure, the exchange said the change was intended to improve how the index reflects market movements. The exclusion previously applied only to Acceleration Board shares.

Other domestic developments attracting attention included President Prabowo Subianto’s comments about managing natural resources and plans to streamline state-owned enterprises. Bank lending growth had reached a decade high, while expectations of increased new lending at year-end and a government programme to expand bank-account access were also being watched.

Market participants were awaiting September 2026 money-supply data from Bank Indonesia, following two consecutive months of slower growth. A sharp fall on Wall Street was another factor drawing attention.
