DBS has again been named Asia’s Safest Bank by Global Finance, extending its run to 18 consecutive years in the publication’s annual assessment of banking institutions.

The World’s Safest Banks rankings cover the 500 largest banks worldwide, using their long-term foreign currency credit ratings from Moody’s, S&P Global Ratings and Fitch Ratings. Global Finance has produced the rankings for 35 years as an assessment of banks’ financial strength and stability.

Joseph Giarraputo, Global Finance’s founder and editorial director, said the 2026 rankings recognised institutions with the financial strength and resilience to address emerging risks and maintain confidence among customers and markets.

DBS chief financial officer Chng Sok Hui attributed the recognition to the bank’s resilience and disciplined approach to managing risk. She said customers were seeking safety and dependability amid uncertainty, and that DBS remained committed to supporting them through market cycles.
