Indonesia plans Rp400 trillion in loans for farmers and low-income communities
President Prabowo Subianto said the 2027 lending target would cover about 28 million families, including rural residents and low-income urban households.

Indonesia is preparing options to distribute Rp400 trillion in credit in 2027 to farmers, fishers and communities in rural, remote and disadvantaged areas. President Prabowo Subianto announced the target at a national coordination meeting on regional financial access in Jakarta on 22 October 2026.
Low-income people living in cities would also qualify among the intended recipients. Prabowo said the programme would target approximately 28 million families, representing around 100 million people when spouses and children are included.
Speaking separately in Jakarta on the same date, Airlangga said existing lending channels included the KUR credit programme and loans for agricultural equipment and machinery. He said interest rates could be set under those schemes, while another option was to raise lending limits, as with housing credit.
Prabowo also pledged to increase funding flowing from the central government to the regions, telling governors and district heads not to worry about reductions. He described regional lending as one way to stimulate economic activity from the bottom up and said he expected more funds to be distributed in the coming year.
