Indonesia recorded annual economic growth of 5.47% for the third quarter of 2026, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) announced on 5 November. Output increased 1.59% from the preceding quarter.

The annual pace was above the 5.29% registered in the second quarter but below the first quarter’s 5.61%. BPS reported economic output of Rp3,633.2 trillion at constant prices and Rp6,741 trillion at current prices.

The result exceeded expectations in a CNBC Indonesia survey of 15 institutions, which produced a consensus forecast of 5.20% annual growth. Moh. Edy Mahmud, BPS deputy for statistical accounts and analysis, presented the figures at the agency’s headquarters in Jakarta.

Before the announcement, BCA chief economist David E. Sumual had forecast annual growth of 5.15–5.20%. He said exports and manufacturing supported the economy, while household consumption and government spending appeared to be slowing compared with the previous quarter. Bank Permata chief economist Josua Pardede had projected growth of 5.23%.
