The Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) will remove 81 stocks classified as having High Shareholding Concentration (HSC) from its IHSG benchmark calculation starting on 2 November 2026. The exchange said the change would not reduce the total market capitalisation of shares listed on the bourse.

BEI development director Iding Pardi told reporters on 27 October 2026 that the affected shares represent about 18 per cent of the index’s weight, while accounting for about 30 per cent of the exchange’s total stock market capitalisation.

Pardi said the exclusion concerns only how the benchmark is calculated. The companies’ shares will still count towards the market’s overall capitalisation, which includes all stocks listed on the exchange, including those in the HSC category.

The exchange said the adjustment would not cause a sharp fall or surge in the benchmark. BEI president director Jeffrey Hendrik said it follows earlier steps to exclude HSC stocks from the IDX30, LQ45 and IDX80 indices.
