Vietnam capital market forum to examine long-term investment flows
Discussions will cover corporate governance, barriers to fundraising and international investor access following Vietnam’s FTSE Russell market upgrade.

The Vietnam Capital Market Forum 2026 will examine how businesses can raise long-term funding and how the country can attract international investment. Tuoi Tre and the State Securities Commission of Vietnam are jointly organising the event, which is expected to draw regulators, investment funds, securities firms and businesses.
Vietnam received secondary emerging market status from FTSE Russell in 2026. By mid-October, its stock market capitalisation stood at around ₫10.7 quadrillion, equivalent to 82-83 per cent of GDP.
The forum’s opening discussion will address obstacles that companies face when raising money through the stock market, alongside governance, disclosure and ways to build a long-term investor base. A second session will consider reforms to market access for overseas investors and ways to attract large investments at suitable costs and maturities.
Tran Hoang Son, director of market strategy at VPBank Securities (VPBankS), told Tuoi Tre that attracting long-term investment requires a broader choice of quality listed assets. He said large funds seek financially sound companies with clear growth prospects, good governance and enough trading liquidity to manage their holdings.
Nguyen Duy Linh, general director of Saigon-Hanoi Securities JSC (SHS), said retaining long-term investment depends on company quality, transparency, stability and investor confidence. The forum will also explore links with global financial institutions and additional fundraising instruments as Vietnam pursues an International Financial Center.
