Indonesia to keep Pertalite and Biosolar prices unchanged through 2026
Energy minister Bahlil Lahadalia said fuel stocks met national minimum requirements and ordered efforts to secure longer-term supply contracts.

Indonesia will not raise the prices of subsidised Pertalite and Biosolar fuel before the end of 2026, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said at a press conference in Jakarta on 26 October. He said the commitment followed instructions from President Prabowo Subianto.
Bahlil said national fuel reserves met minimum requirements. Pertalite inventories covered 16–18 days, while stocks of RON 92, 95 and 98 petrol each covered 20 days. Solar diesel reserves also stood at 20 days, he said.
To maintain supplies into next year, Bahlil said he had instructed the relevant parties to seek long-term contracts. He also planned to visit India, China and other countries to obtain assurances about future fuel supplies.
The minister acknowledged that higher global oil prices could increase the subsidy burden. He put average global oil prices at US$92 per barrel, compared with a figure of US$90 per barrel for domestic fuel, and said additional subsidy and compensation funding would be needed. Despite that pressure, he reiterated that the president had instructed officials not to increase subsidised fuel prices.
