Four-room flats lead Singapore HDB rentals as rents decline
September rents fell month on month for every flat category, but all remained above their year-earlier levels.

Four-room HDB flats made up 37.7% of Singapore’s rental volume in September, the biggest proportion among flat categories, flash estimates by 99.co and SRX showed. They also recorded the largest monthly rent decline, at 0.8%.
Three-room units were next by rental volume, accounting for 36%. Five-room flats represented 21.2%, while Executive units had the smallest share at 5.1%.
Monthly rents fell across the remaining categories too. Executive flats registered a 0.7% decrease, compared with declines of 0.4% for five-room units and 0.3% for three-room flats.
The annual comparison showed increases in every category. Executive flats led with a 3.5% rise despite their smaller share of rental volume. Five-room rents were 1% higher than a year earlier, while three-room and four-room units each recorded gains of 0.9%.
