AI companion planned for 500 homes at i-City development
The proposed i-Ris assistant will initially focus on conversations and resident services, with robotics and wellness integration to follow.

A planned 500-unit residential development by i-City will feature an AI companion being developed with TwinMatrix Technologies. The companies intend the assistant, named i-Ris, to connect residents with household systems at AI Living, which is targeting completion in 2030.
The initiative seeks to put controls for domestic robots, connected homes, wellness devices and services into one interface. Possible uses include managing schedules, finding information and arranging household services. Future functions could let residents control robots, adjust settings in their homes and receive wellness information drawn from authorised wearable-device data.
TwinMatrix, an Nvidia Inception company, will build a digital avatar using Nvidia ACE, with natural communication as a design goal. Nvidia's graphics processing unit computing will underpin connections among home technologies, while TwinMatrix will apply spatial AI and digital twin technology to account for residents' physical surroundings.
Eric Liu, TwinMatrix's founder and chief executive officer, said the goal extended beyond connecting devices to making household systems work together around residents' daily needs. Work on i-Ris will begin with conversational capabilities and resident services; integration with robotics, wellness and smart-home systems will come in later stages.
