Westports Holdings Bhd reported net profit of RM342.55 million for its quarter to September 30, 2026, up 26 per cent from RM271.1 million a year earlier. In a Bursa Malaysia filing, the company attributed the improvement to higher gross profit as revenue increased.

Quarterly revenue reached RM1.06 billion, a 42 per cent increase from RM751.99 million in the corresponding period. Operational revenue was RM798 million, rising 20 per cent, which Westports attributed mainly to increased tariffs and stronger income from value-added services.

Westports expects overall container throughput to at least equal the previous year's level. It cautioned, however, that rapidly changing conditions could still materially alter its volume outlook.

The company said transhipment volumes partly reflected shipping lines' responses to changing regional supply chains and economic requirements, while gateway volumes reflected domestic container needs. It also said consumption had remained resilient despite pressure from higher interest rates and renewed energy price increases.
