Vietnam's State Treasury raised ₫16 trillion (US$619.39 million) through its weekly government bond sale, a Hanoi Stock Exchange filing showed. The amount raised exceeded the previous week's US$371 million, while the proportion of bonds sold increased to around 84 per cent from 65 per cent.

The Treasury found buyers for its entire five-year offering at a coupon of 4.27 per cent. All the 10-year bonds offered were also sold, carrying a coupon of 4.43 per cent.

By contrast, none of the three-, 15- or 30-year bonds attracted buyers. Those three maturities together accounted for ₫2 trillion of the offering. The government's annual target for funds raised through bond sales is ₫500 trillion.

Separately, bond market association data put Vietnamese companies' bond fundraising at ₫466 trillion for the year up to 23 October. Corporate debt worth ₫50.9 trillion is due to mature over the rest of the year.
