Vingroup signs stadium operations partnership with Legends Global
The planned 135,000-seat venue in Hanoi will have a retractable roof and is intended to host international sport, culture and entertainment events.
Vingroup has reached an agreement with Legends Global covering management of Hanoi's planned VinFast - Trong Dong Stadium, which will have 135,000 seats. Announced at a Hanoi ceremony, the partnership also covers efforts to bring major international events to the venue.
Legends Global's role includes working alongside Vingroup on facilities management, supplier coordination and services within the stadium. It will also help develop the capabilities of Vingroup's venue management team in Vietnam. The agreement permits Legends Global to supply Vingroup with additional services for Vietnamese stadiums, arenas and live events.
Plans include an automatically retractable roof, a playing surface designed for events meeting FIFA standards, systems for real-time security management and crowd coordination, and measures for sustainable operations. The architecture incorporates Dong Son bronze drum imagery, including the Lac bird motif. Vingroup vice-chairman and CEO Nguyen Viet Quang said the company wanted the stadium to accommodate major cultural and entertainment events as well as sport.
Preparations before opening are underway. Legends Global venue management specialist Paul Sergeant OBE has arrived in Hanoi to lead technical preparations and pre-opening work, while recruitment for the stadium's operations team has begun.
