Maya remains interested in going public in 2027, chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan said on October 28, adding that there was no longer enough time for a listing in 2026. He spoke in Pasig City during Meralco’s financial results briefing.

Pangilinan had initially outlined plans in February for the fintech firm to pursue an initial public offering in both the Philippines and the United States. He said he had told Maya’s foreign shareholders that he would not oppose a Nasdaq listing, but wanted the company to list in the Philippines as well.

He pointed to the market debut of GCash parent Mynt as evidence that a quality business could generate strong investor demand. Pangilinan said he hoped Maya could achieve a successful offering suited to its size, while acknowledging that it might not match Mynt’s scale.

Mynt joined the Philippine Stock Exchange on October 20. Its IPO raised ₱60.9 billion, with shares offered at ₱6.60 each.
