SD Guthrie's quarterly net profit declines 17.3% to RM773 million
Nine-month earnings increased to RM2.32 billion, while stronger upstream performance contrasted with weaker results in other segments.

SD Guthrie Bhd reported net profit of RM773 million for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026, down 17.3 per cent from RM935 million a year earlier. Revenue declined 0.3 per cent, reaching RM5.39 billion against RM5.41 billion.
The group said reduced contributions from industrial development, midstream and downstream operations weighed on quarterly earnings. Industrial pre-tax profit fell to RM81 million from RM432 million as land disposals contributed less.
Midstream earnings decreased to RM99 million from RM123 million, mainly reflecting narrower margins in Asia Pacific bulk operations. Downstream pre-tax profit stood at RM1 million, compared with RM31 million, following weaker margins in differentiated operations across Asia Pacific and Europe and a larger share of joint-venture losses.
Upstream operations moved in the opposite direction, with pre-tax profit increasing 48 per cent to RM935 million. The company attributed the rise to average realised crude palm oil and palm kernel prices that were three per cent and seven per cent higher, respectively. Fresh fruit bunch output grew eight per cent to 2.48 million tonnes, supported by operational improvements in Malaysia and Indonesia.
For the nine-month period, earnings rose to RM2.32 billion from RM2 billion, although revenue declined to RM15.03 billion from RM15.4 billion. SD Guthrie began reporting midstream and downstream as separate segments from FY2026; their nine-month pre-tax profits were RM286 million and RM59 million, respectively.
