Daiso opens RM1.2 billion distribution centre in Selangor
The Pulau Indah facility will link the retailer’s suppliers with 27 countries across Asia and the Middle East.

Japanese retailer Daiso has opened a RM1.2 billion global distribution centre in Pulau Indah, Selangor, its biggest warehouse worldwide. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim attended the opening on November 5 and said the investment demonstrated confidence in Malaysia’s infrastructure and economic stability.
The centre will handle both incoming and outgoing shipments, linking manufacturing operations in Japan and China, along with other suppliers, to 27 countries across Asia and the Middle East. It is larger than Daiso’s base in Hiroshima, Japan.
Anwar said goods from overseas would undergo sorting, storage and repacking at Pulau Indah before being shipped to international markets. He said those activities would help Malaysia retain more value from global trade instead of serving only as a cargo transit point. He also commended Daiso for finishing the facility earlier than scheduled and under budget.
The prime minister said the government was investing in ports, railways and air cargo facilities to strengthen logistics. He cited Westports II, which is expected to almost double the port’s existing capacity, and a proposed megaport in Pulau Carey, Selangor. Transport Minister Anthony Loke said Daiso’s choice of a site near Port Klang underscored the importance of Malaysia’s sea and land transport infrastructure.
