The US dollar reached Rp18,120 at 11:00 WIB as Indonesia’s rupiah lost further ground during trading, CNBC Indonesia reported, citing Refinitiv figures.

At the opening, one US dollar bought Rp18,050, leaving the rupiah 0.06 per cent, or 10 points, weaker than its Friday, 23 October 2026 close of Rp18,040 per US dollar.

The decline came despite weakness in the US dollar index. The measure, which compares the dollar with six major world currencies, stood at 101.636 at 09:00 WIB, down 0.17 per cent.

CNBC Indonesia said investors were watching Bank Indonesia’s latest remarks on the currency after pressure associated with sentiment surrounding Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI).

Internationally, oil prices were beginning to ease following a sharp jump the previous week as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East increased. Investors were also awaiting the Federal Reserve’s interest-rate decision, along with US economic growth and inflation figures.
