Philippine investment approvals rise 53.05 per cent to ₱900.06 billion
Energy projects dominated approved pledges, while Singapore was the largest foreign source of commitments.

Investment pledges approved by the Philippine Board of Investments (BOI) totalled ₱900.06 billion over January–September 2026, the agency said. That represented an annual increase of 53.05 per cent and put approvals at 90 per cent of its ₱1 trillion full-year goal.
The BOI expects the 207 approved projects to generate 21,524 jobs. For September, it cleared 27 projects worth ₱278.21 billion, an increase of 392.5 per cent against September 2025. Those projects are expected to add at least 2,068 jobs.
Energy led the approvals, drawing ₱740.14 billion and accounting for 82.23 per cent of the overall value. Commitments in the sector increased by 75.2 per cent from ₱422.34 billion a year earlier. The agency linked that rise to approvals for major projects involving hydropower, wind, solar and other energy sources.
Real estate drew pledges of ₱46.66 billion, while transportation and storage attracted ₱36.47 billion. Information and communication received ₱18.36 billion, and manufacturing accounted for ₱14.86 billion.
Local investors accounted for 89.88 per cent of approved commitments, contributing ₱808.96 billion. The BOI said this was an increase of 60.5 per cent from the corresponding 2025 period.
Foreign pledges amounted to ₱90.40 billion. Singapore ranked first among overseas sources at ₱42.71 billion, ahead of South Korea’s ₱27.44 billion and China’s ₱4.07 billion.
