The Philippines’ Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has introduced a technology clinic in Angeles City, Pampanga, to connect disaster-management offices with scientific tools and expertise for emergency preparation and response.

Science and Technology Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. outlined the service at the opening of the 2026 Handa Pilipinas — Luzon Leg. The public can visit the clinic at SMX Convention Center Clark during the exhibition, which runs from October 26 to 28.

Solidum said experts would examine agencies’ problems and local circumstances before directing them towards suitable DOST technologies, information or services. Offices that have completed a technology needs assessment can use it to begin discussions. Where DOST cannot provide a solution, the clinic can refer them to another government agency.

DOST plans to expand the clinics and incorporate them into its existing offices, Solidum said. Central Luzon regional director Dr. Julius Sicat said meetings would be available in person or virtually. He also said the initiative would be integrated into DOST’s 84 innovation hubs nationwide.
