UL Solutions expands testing laboratory in Ho Chi Minh City
The site adds dedicated tools testing and a controlled indoor space for assessing products designed for outdoor use.

UL Solutions has opened a larger laboratory in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing more product-testing services together for manufacturers, brands and retailers operating in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. The company announced the expansion on October 26.
The facility can assess consumer goods, electrical equipment, electronics, furniture and packaging, as well as materials used in contact with food. Its expanded capabilities also include chemical testing, product safety checks and assessments of indoor air quality and environmental factors.
According to UL Solutions, the site houses its first controlled indoor testing environment in Vietnam for outdoor-use products. Large items such as gazebos, canopies and outdoor furniture can be assessed under conditions designed to simulate weather events.
The company has also established its first dedicated Vietnamese tools-testing laboratory at the facility. It covers power tools, equipment for lawns and gardens, battery-powered systems, battery packs and controls, with evaluations conducted against applicable UL and IEC standards.
UL Solutions said the additional local services could help manufacturers detect compliance and safety problems earlier and reduce the need to transport samples over long distances. The expanded site forms part of its global laboratory network.
