Bank Syariah Indonesia plans share buyback of up to Rp500 billion
The bank intends to use internal cash for the purchases, with the buyback expected to run from 27 October 2026 to 26 January 2027.

PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk. (BRIS) plans to spend up to Rp500 billion buying back its shares amid market volatility, according to its disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The ceiling includes transaction charges and other related expenses.
In its announcement on 26 October 2026, the bank said the proposed buyback would not exceed 20 per cent of its paid-up capital. Purchases are expected to begin on 27 October 2026 and continue until 26 January 2027, using the bank’s internal cash.
BSI estimates that its assets and equity would each fall by the amount spent on the buyback, up to Rp500 billion. It does not expect a material adverse effect on operations, citing sufficient capital and cash flow, and expects financial results to remain in line with its targets.
Management said purchases would be made at prices it considers fair and appropriate, subject to applicable rules, including POJK 13/2023. The repurchased shares would subsequently be transferred in accordance with Financial Services Authority regulations governing listed companies’ share buybacks.
BRIS shares traded at Rp1,140 at 09:14 Western Indonesian Time on 27 October, up 8.06 per cent. The stock was down 48.65 per cent for the year to date.
