Petronas Lubricants International (PLI) has partnered with UM Motorcycles on a lubricant supply agreement covering selected Asia Pacific markets as well as Europe, Africa and Latin America. The deal will put selected Petronas Sprinta products into the motorcycle company's distributor and aftersales dealer channels.

The introduction will take place in phases, starting with Asia. Distribution will then expand into Europe, followed by the Middle East and Africa, before moving into the Americas.

Alongside supplying lubricants, the partners will undertake dealer development, training on technical matters and coordinated marketing. They aim to improve aftersales support and engagement with customers throughout UM Motorcycles' international operations.

PLI said access to UM Motorcycles' distribution network would offer opportunities to increase its presence. Dealers and distributors taking part could also draw on PLI's expertise to improve servicing and aftersales reliability, it said.

The Sprinta products incorporate UltraFlex technology, which PLI says is intended to protect engines, clutches and gears under conditions including cold starts and stop-start traffic. The company also says the lubricants are designed to improve engine responsiveness, reliability and longevity.
