Indonesia inaugurates gas projects expected to add 290 MMSCFD
The JNE#6 well is already supplying 60 MMSCFD, with another 230 MMSCFD expected from two Maha field wells by the end of October 2026.

Indonesia’s gas supply is expected to gain approximately 290 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) from two projects inaugurated by Bahlil Lahadalia, the coordinating minister for downstreaming and energy transition. Investment in the Jangkrik North East #6 (JNE#6) and Maha-South Hub facilities totals approximately US$840 million.
JNE#6 currently delivers 60 MMSCFD to the Jangkrik Floating Production Unit (FPU). Two wells at the Maha field are expected to provide a further 230 MMSCFD by the end of October 2026.
The Jangkrik FPU processes around 550 MMSCFD. Lahadalia said he expected the facility’s production to rise to 700–750 MMSCFD following the inauguration.
Estimated gas reserves at Maha stand at 438 billion standard cubic feet (BSCF). Its development includes the Maha-3 and Maha-4 production wells and a subsea production system.
Lahadalia also pointed to projects under development by Eni, among them Geliga-1 in the Ganal Block off East Kalimantan, as potential sources of additional gas production. He projected total gas output of approximately 3,000 MMSCFD by 2028–2029, alongside condensate production of around 130,000 barrels per day.
