Lim Han Kwang appointed YTL PowerSeraya CEO from Jan 1
Outgoing chief John Ng will remain a director. The company is building an estimated S$800 million hydrogen-ready generating facility on Pulau Seraya.

YTL PowerSeraya has chosen its deputy chief executive, Lim Han Kwang, to succeed John Ng as CEO from Jan 1, the Singapore electricity producer announced on Oct 26. Ng will leave the executive role but retain his board seat.
The company began preparing for the transition in 2024, appointing Lim as deputy CEO while he remained chief executive of its retail business, Geneco. His remit as CEO will include Geneco, PetroSeraya, which operates tank storage, and Taser Power.
The handover comes during construction of a hydrogen-ready combined cycle gas turbine at Pulau Seraya. The project has an estimated cost of S$800 million and capacity of 600 megawatts, with commissioning targeted for late 2027.
Lim rejoined YTL PowerSeraya in 2020 to head group strategy and risk management. He previously worked at the Energy Market Authority, Singapore Power and Sembcorp Industries.
Ng started his second spell as CEO in January 2019 after previously leading Singapore LNG Corp. His tenure included the 2022 acquisition of the 396-megawatt Tuaspring power plant. YTL Power International, listed in Malaysia, owns YTL PowerSeraya outright.
