Indonesian domestic investment approaches Rp2,000 trillion, Kadin says
The business chamber highlighted electric vehicles, renewable energy and data centres as investment areas with potential for greater local component use.

Domestic businesses invested nearly Rp2,000 trillion in Indonesia across the opening two years of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration, Kadin chairman Anindya Bakrie said. He linked that investment to confidence among local companies in Indonesia’s economic prospects.
According to the Presidential Secretariat, Anindya spoke at a presidential briefing held in Hambalang, in West Java’s Bogor District. He said investors spanned different industries and business sizes, with medium-sized firms contributing to the economy’s resilience.
Anindya cited gross domestic product of around Rp25,000 trillion against a state budget of approximately Rp4,000 trillion. He said the remaining 85 per cent of economic activity offered room for businesses to contribute more to national development.
The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, known as Kadin, outlined its priorities during its national leadership meeting. Anindya said it remained committed to encouraging investment in newer industries while supporting established sectors. He singled out renewable energy, data centres and electric vehicles for their potential to use more components produced locally.
He also urged efforts to build the capabilities of entrepreneurs in the regions and medium-sized companies, helping them expand and undertake higher-value business activities. In his assessment, increased domestic investment could strengthen economic growth and open up more opportunities for local firms.
