Ho Chi Minh City presented 12 major investment projects at the Autumn Economic Forum (AEF) 2026, setting a combined capital mobilisation target of US$13 billion. The planned investments cover logistics and seaports, alongside high technology, industrial manufacturing and urban development.

Membership of the Vietnam International Financial Centre in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCM) was another focus, with its first 10 official members announced. REE Energy Finance Investment Director Nguyen Ngoc Nhat Hanh said the company had pledged to mobilise US$200 million for renewable energy projects. She hoped the centre would help Vietnamese businesses reach international capital markets, particularly institutions interested in green energy.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung identified institutional improvements, infrastructure investment and stronger business capabilities as development priorities. He said Vietnam would pursue legal and regulatory reforms aligned with international standards, while focusing infrastructure efforts on transport, seaports, energy and other essential facilities.

The forum ran for four days and attracted more than 1,500 participants representing 60 countries and territories. Over 250 speakers contributed to more than 20 sessions covering topics such as artificial intelligence, finance, advanced manufacturing and urban governance. Discussions examined how capital and technology could be linked with the ability to implement development initiatives.

Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc committed the city to converting ideas and relationships developed during the gathering into specific projects and cooperation programmes.
