Singapore-based Bridge Data Centres (BDC) has appointed Drew Chen to serve as co-chief executive alongside Eric Fan, effective 1 November 2026. BDC said the leadership appointment is intended to help expand its business in Asia Pacific and beyond.

According to Fan, BDC is exceeding one gigawatt of capacity in 2026. He said Chen’s knowledge of data centres would support the company’s ambition to develop a digital infrastructure platform with multi-gigawatt capacity over the coming years.

Chen’s private equity career spans more than 20 years, with a focus on technology, telecommunications, business services and media. He was formerly a senior partner at Bain Capital, where he was among the founding members of its Asia Pacific private equity team. His earlier career included work at Bain & Company.

Bain Capital’s Partner and Chair of China, Jonathan Zhu, credited Chen with helping build BDC and its sister company, ChinData. BDC’s operations span Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and India.
