The Philippines’ Department of Agriculture said a ₱97.91 million investment through a World Bank-funded project is expected to strengthen the coffee industry in Bukidnon’s Daraghuyan Ancestral Domain.

Under the department’s Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project (MIADP), support will cover agricultural infrastructure and enterprise development, alongside water and irrigation facilities. The ancestral domain is known for award-winning arabica beans.

Working with Malaybalay’s local government, MIADP is funding these projects:

  • Two road projects: ₱51 million.
  • Irrigation: ₱17.6 million.
  • Coffee processing and marketing: ₱14.76 million.
  • Warehouse and drying area: ₱10.45 million.
  • Clean water system: ₱4.1 million.

According to the department, work on the road linking Sitio Damitan and Sitio Ulanguhon has exceeded 65 per cent completion. The Sitio Ulanguhon–Sitio Suopon section is at the bidding review stage.

MIADP Project Director Macario Gonzaga said the investment aims to improve agricultural productivity and resilience while widening access to markets and services. He said cooperation from the Daraghuyan Indigenous community had helped make the projects possible.
