Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has awarded Bintai Kinden Corporation Bhd a RM20.28 million project involving extensions to two transformers in Pahang, Bintai Kinden said. The work is at the PMU Avetani substation.

The engineering services provider said completion was expected within 540 days after work begins. With the new award, RM183.8 million of work remains in its order book.

Separately, bids valued at RM1.77 billion are being evaluated. These involve construction projects alongside work in the mechanical and electrical engineering sectors.

Datuk Tay Chor Han, the company's managing director and chief executive officer, said the award supported efforts to rebuild business momentum. He said Bintai Kinden was seeking to convert its pending tenders into further contract awards.

Tay said the group would seek suitable opportunities while focusing on project quality, safety and efficiency. He also linked its recovery and growth to disciplined operations, consistent delivery and a sustained commitment to its core engineering activities.
