Westports shares gain 13 sen after nine-month profit reaches RM1.02 billion
MBSB Investment Bank lifted its earnings forecasts after the port operator’s core earnings came in slightly above its expectations.

Westports Holdings Bhd traded at RM6.90 at 11.33am on October 22, up 13 sen, after reporting higher earnings for the first nine months of 2026. Trading volume reached 1.71 million shares.
The port operator recorded net profit of RM1.02 billion for the nine-month period, compared with RM725.19 million a year earlier. Revenue increased from RM2.06 billion to RM2.83 billion.
For the quarter ending September 30, 2026, net profit rose 26 per cent to RM342.55 million against RM271.1 million a year earlier. Revenue grew 42 per cent to RM1.06 billion from RM751.99 million, supporting higher gross profit.
MBSB Investment Bank Bhd said nine-month core earnings were slightly above its expectations. It raised its earnings forecasts for 2026-2028 by 2.8 per cent to 3.0 per cent to reflect lower operating costs, mainly depreciation and electricity expenses.
The bank said electricity costs during the nine months declined 28.9 per cent year-on-year. It attributed the reduction to a more favourable tariff classification, exemptions under green energy tariffs and increased solar self-generation.
