Vietnamese firms exhibit shrimp-waste products and pineapple-based cleaners
GRECO 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City also features research into plant fibres and natural dyes, with interest reported from overseas partners.

Shrimp-processing leftovers and discarded pineapple material are being used to develop consumer and agricultural products by Vietnamese businesses exhibiting at GRECO 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City. Researchers are also presenting textile samples made using agricultural by-products.
VNF Company has put research and technology investment into turning shrimp by-products into fertiliser inputs, protein products derived from shrimp, and food for pets, according to sales director Tran Dao Hong Ngoc. She said the approach reduces production waste and raises the value of materials left over from seafood processing.
Cleaning brand Fuwa3e uses pineapple by-product enzymes to make its products, said Bui Thi Thanh Tu, community manager at international innovation alliance InnoEx. Its range includes soap for hands, liquid for washing dishes and cleaners for floors. Research is under way on pet shampoos and body washes. InnoEx is presenting nine sustainable agriculture models at the exhibition.
Pham Thi Hong Phuong, a lecturer in the Faculty of Chemical Engineering at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, said her team brought pineapple, coconut and banana fibre samples, plus textiles coloured with new natural dyes. She reported interest from Vietnamese businesses and partners in Japan and South Korea.
GRECO 2026 occupies approximately 11,000 square metres, with 90 booths representing nearly 70 organisations from Vietnam and abroad. The Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center and partner organisations are staging the exhibition as part of the Autumn Economic Forum 2026.
