Quang Ninh and Bac Ninh seek Korean investment in energy and technology
More than 200 participants attended a Seoul conference linking Vietnamese localities with Korean companies, including Samsung, Hanwha and Lotte.

Representatives of Quang Ninh and Bac Ninh outlined investment priorities to Korean businesses at a November 4 conference in Seoul organised by Vietnam’s embassy. Their proposals covered clean energy, logistics, semiconductors and advanced manufacturing.
The gathering brought together more than 200 Vietnamese and Korean participants, with Samsung, LH, Hanwha, Lotte and Shinhan Bank among the companies represented. Discussions allowed businesses to raise investment requirements and questions about operating conditions and carrying out projects with local officials.
Le Van Anh, Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh’s municipal People’s Committee, said the locality wanted Korean investment in areas including renewable energy, smart ports, environmental technology and infrastructure. He also highlighted opportunities in tourism and higher-value services, citing Quang Ninh’s location, ports, border crossings and transport network.
Bac Ninh is seeking projects involving semiconductors, AI, next-generation electronics, automation and research, according to Tran Thi Hang, Standing Vice Chairwoman of its municipal People’s Council. She said it also wanted closer ties between domestic businesses and foreign-invested companies, alongside technology transfer and workforce development.
Vietnamese Ambassador Vu Ho said the embassy would continue helping businesses develop partnerships and turn opportunities into projects. Kwon Sung Taek, chairman of the Korea–Vietnam Economic and Cultural Association, urged greater emphasis on business links based on specific demand. He proposed tourism and port-logistics projects for Quang Ninh and technology-focused cooperation for Bac Ninh, as well as education and training partnerships.
