Philippine and Singapore exchanges agree to explore new investment products
The partnership will examine thematic exchange-traded funds and derivatives, with the aim of expanding fundraising and regional trading.

A new agreement linking the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) and Singapore Exchange Ltd. (SGX Group) seeks to give issuers more fundraising options while encouraging investment across their markets, the PSE said.
The memorandum of collaboration was signed during the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum. Under the partnership, the exchanges will consider exchange-traded funds focused on investment themes relevant to both markets and assess possible improvements to derivatives.
Developing products to increase trading within Southeast Asia is another objective. Both exchanges have committed to involving their market participants in additional initiatives and consulting their co-regulators over bureaucratic and operational matters.
Ramon Monzon, PSE president and CEO, said the arrangement aimed to offer Filipino and Singaporean investors broader trading opportunities. He hoped it would also improve liquidity at the PSE. SGX Group CEO Loh Boon Chye said the tie-up could make capital and investment more accessible to companies in both economies.
The exchanges also want the agreement to encourage further cooperation among Southeast Asian capital markets. Their partnership is linked to their governments’ consecutive ASEAN chairmanships: the Philippines holds the role in 2026, followed by Singapore in 2027.
