CelcomDigi Bhd said its wholly owned subsidiary, CelcomDigi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, has filed with the Securities Commission for an Islamic medium-term notes programme capped at RM10 billion. The funding will support capital expenditure, working capital and corporate purposes.

In a bourse filing, CelcomDigi said the proceeds would serve the issuer, its subsidiaries and the wider group. They may also go towards refinancing conventional and Islamic debt, financing future Islamic issuances, redeeming sukuk under the programme and paying associated fees and expenses.

The programme has a perpetual tenure and a AAA rating from RAM Rating Services Bhd. It uses the Murabahah Shariah principle through a Tawarruq arrangement. CelcomDigi said proceeds must be used only for Shariah-compliant purposes.

Group borrowings reached RM14.46 billion on June 30, 2026, compared with RM13.85 billion at the end of December 2025. Cash and cash equivalents totalled RM684 million.

CelcomDigi reported RM816 million in net profit for the first half ended June 30, 2026, against RM823 million a year earlier. Revenue remained broadly steady at RM6.39 billion.

AmInvestment Bank Bhd and CIMB Investment Bank Bhd will jointly handle principal advisory, lead arranging and lead management roles. The joint Shariah advisory appointments went to AmBank Islamic Bhd and CIMB Islamic Bank Bhd.
