PEZA eyes up to ₱320 billion in investment approvals for 2026
Approvals reached ₱309.63 billion by end-October, exceeding the annual target and rising 77 per cent from a year earlier.

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) expects its investment approvals to reach ₱315 billion to ₱320 billion in 2026, potentially exceeding the ₱312 billion record set in 2012, director general Tereso Panga said.
The agency had approved investments worth ₱309.63 billion by the end of October, a year-on-year increase of 77 per cent. That put it above its ₱300 billion target for the full year.
Speaking to reporters at the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry Conference, Panga said two remaining board meetings and projects awaiting approval put a new record within reach. Following approval of two large projects, he expects another to be registered before year-end.
The approved amounts represent pledges by local or foreign companies for economic-zone projects, which receive incentives such as income tax holidays. Panga said PEZA wants a higher level of approvals in 2027.
Separately, Panga said PEZA expects 20 new economic zones to have been proclaimed by the end of 2026, compared with an earlier goal of up to around 30. Around 17 to 18 have been proclaimed so far, with manufacturing zones planned in Calabarzon, Ilocos and Pampanga.
PEZA also expects applications from information technology parks in Metro Manila after the recent lifting of a moratorium, Panga said.
